Sarah is an ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focussed Individual Therapist (EFIT) and has completed advanced training in Emotionally Focussed Therapy for couples (EFCT). She also holds a Master of Counselling from the University of Canberra and has graduated from a four-year in-depth training in Hakomi Somatic Psychotherapy. Her work is grounded in the principles of attachment theory and the innate influence of the nervous system’s responses to both trauma and relational connection.
Sarah brings a safe, calming and non-judgemental space for clients to deepen their understanding of the intersection between how they were shaped in their early lives and their current ways of coping, which so profoundly impact daily functioning and cause conflict in relationships. She is experienced working with people identifying as neurodivergent and LGBTIQA+. Those who have encountered childhood trauma, abuse, neglect, emotional dysregulation, infidelity and addiction are held with humanity and great care, allowing a bottom-up approach to building resilience, a stronger connection with loved ones and a path to transformational and sustainable change.
With more than 10 years’ in private therapy practice, including three years with the Canberra Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Program, Sarah brings a breadth of professional and life experience to her work. Before becoming a counsellor, she worked in film production, cattle farming and supporting children from military families and is mother to two adult children, enriching her appreciation of the many challenges and transitions people navigate throughout life.
Sarah offers in-person couples, relationship and individual counselling in Daylesford, Victoria, as well as online counselling for clients internationally and across Australia.
