Renee Davies

EFT Relationship Therapist, Sydney

Renee Davies is a warm and thoughtful relationship counsellor based in Glebe, Sydney, working with individuals, couples, and families. She supports clients who may be feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed in their relationships, helping them to better understand their emotional experiences and find new ways of relating.

Using a person-centred and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach, Renee focuses on what is happening in the moment—helping clients to slow down, connect with their emotions, and better understand themselves and each other. From here, change can begin to feel possible, with greater emotional safety and connection developing over time.

Her work is also informed by a relational psychodynamic framework and the Conversational Model. She holds a particular interest in how early experiences shape our sense of self, and how these patterns continue to play out in our relationships today.

In her work with individuals, couples, and families, Renee gently supports the identification and reshaping of negative cycles, helping people move towards more secure, connected ways of being with one another.

Renee holds a Master of Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Graduate Diploma of Counselling, and has completed specialised training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families. She is currently undertaking a Master of Science in Medicine (Psychosexual Health) at the University of Sydney, alongside an intensive, supervision-based training in the Conversational Model through ANZAP. She has also completed training in coding the Adult Attachment Interview (AAI).

Her experience spans private practice, alcohol and other drug services, non-government organisations, private hospital settings, and residential treatment programs, allowing her to work with clients across a wide range of presentations with care and sensitivity.

Before training as a therapist, Renee worked in body-based practices including remedial massage, yoga, meditation, and dance. This continues to inform her work through an awareness of the connection between body and mind, supporting a more grounded and integrated therapeutic experience.

Renee offers relationship counselling in Sydney, with sessions available in-person in Glebe and via Zoom across Australia. She creates a safe, supportive space where clients can slow down and explore their experiences through meaningful, emotionally focused conversations.
