If you’ve struggled to find the right therapist locally, or if you’ve been hesitant to try online therapy, it might be time to give it a go.
All you need are a few basics:
Individual therapy sessions work well online.
For relationship counselling where there’s a high level of conflict, in-person sessions may offer more containment. That said, all our therapists are highly skilled in de-escalating conflict online, and we’ve successfully worked with many couples via telehealth—even when emotions run high.
In some cases, each partner can join from a different location—whether due to work commitments or travel. Wherever possible, however, we recommend attending together in the same room, so you can touch, connect, and maintain meaningful eye contact.
One of the greatest advantages of online therapy is accessibility. Distance is no longer a barrier—you can connect with us from anywhere in Australia or overseas. If our approach, expertise, or a particular therapist resonates with you, you can work with them regardless of location.
Many of our clients—some living just around the corner—continue with online sessions because of the convenience and flexibility. Sessions fit more easily into busy days, there’s no travel time, and you can meet from the comfort of your own space.
Online therapy can also:
Over time, we’ve refined our telehealth processes to ensure online therapy feels just as supportive, engaging, and focused as meeting in person. For many clients—especially those previously travelling to Canberra for intensives—it has made regular therapy possible.
If you’re in rural or regional Australia, or living abroad, we’re here to help you access therapy that truly meets your needs.
For some people, online therapy offers unexpected benefits. Being in a familiar environment can make it easier to open up, and having a screen between you and your therapist can feel less confronting at first—especially if you’re nervous about starting therapy.
Online sessions also help you practice new skills in the space where you live your daily life. For example, couples can work on communication or conflict-repair strategies in the same room where challenges usually arise, making changes feel more immediate and relevant.
