Build Your Foundation in EFCT with Janine Moran

Learning Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFCT) can feel both exciting and complex. The model is elegant in theory, yet applying it in real sessions often feels daunting. This Deliberate Practice Group for Skills 1–5 offers a supportive and structured way to strengthen your core EFCT techniques and gain confidence in your work with couples.

Led by Janine Moran – ICEEFT Certified EFT Trainer, Supervisor, and Therapist – this weekly online group focuses on foundational skills that set the stage for meaningful change. Deliberate practice is an evidence-based approach that helps therapists move from “knowing” to “doing” through focused exercises, role-play, feedback, and reflection.

What You’ll Gain

By the end of this course, you will:

  • Strengthen essential EFCT skills including evocative inquiry, emotional validation, and cycle tracking.
  • Practise attachment-reframed validation to build emotional safety.
  • Learn how to deepen emotions using RISSSSC techniques (Repeat, Imagery, Simple, Slow, Soft, Specific, Client’s words).
  • Receive personalised guidance from Janine Moran to refine your approach.
  • Build a solid foundation for future EFCT learning and certification.

This group is ideal for therapists in the early stages of EFCT who want to build a strong foundation and feel more confident guiding couples through Stage 1 of therapy, while also offering a supportive space for practitioners at any stage to practise, learn, and connect.

Refine Your Intermediate EFCT Skills

The middle stages of EFCT are where therapists often feel stretched – how do you move beyond identifying the negative cycle to creating new emotional experiences? The Deliberate Practice Group for Skills 6–10 helps you strengthen these intermediate techniques so you can guide couples toward deeper engagement and connection.

Each weekly session, led by Janine Moran, focuses on one specific skill. You’ll practise through structured exercises, receive direct feedback, and integrate these techniques into your ongoing clinical work.

What You’ll Gain

In this group, you will:

  • Practise gathering and assembling elements of emotion for deeper exploration.
  • Learn to choreograph engaged encounters that open up vulnerability.
  • Develop strategies to slice the risk thinner when emotions feel too overwhelming.
  • Build confidence in restructuring attachment-related interactions.
  • Receive tailored feedback to strengthen your presence and effectiveness in session.

Perfect for therapists who have completed Skills 1–5 or equivalent training, this course bridges the gap between foundational learning and advanced EFCT practice.
