Before becoming a counsellor, Al worked as a music teacher, later in construction, and volunteered in community sport leadership.
Al holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and is an ACA-accredited Level 4 practitioner. He began his career at a leading counselling service for men before focusing exclusively on families, working for the past five years with couples, parents, and children. Trained in the attachment-based Circle of Security interventions (COSP and COSI), this model of core human needs is a key foundation of Al’s work. He has extensive experience in addressing complex family system issues and trauma, and understands how these challenges impact clients throughout their lives.
Al brings a wealth of experience in helping couples and families explore new ways of being. He believes that the capacity for safe, loving bonds is already present within the individual and the relationship, waiting to be seen, understood, and nurtured.
