Al Robinson

Clinical Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Al works with individuals, parents, couples, and families, bringing warmth, humour, curiosity, and clarity to every session. He supports clients through a safe, reflective process of discovery and change, helping them strengthen relationships and build deeper emotional connection.

With over ten years of experience in the Community Services sector, Al began his career as a practitioner and later became a Clinical Team Leader. His work has included supporting men to address anger and violence, school counselling, clinical outreach in the community, foster care support, and attachment-focused interventions using filmed parent–child interactions to enhance parent reflection and outcomes for children.

Before becoming a counsellor and psychotherapist, Al worked as a music teacher, in landscaping and construction, and in community sport leadership—experience that contributes to his grounded, relatable approach.

Al holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Counselling and is a PACFA-accredited Clinical Member. He is extensively trained in the Circle of Security model (COSP and COSI) and in Emotionally Focused Therapy, particularly EFCT. He is also trained in EMDR, supporting individuals to safely reprocess challenging or traumatic experiences.
